The 2016 Melbourne Walking Festival / Victorian Walking Festival starts on April 1 and runs until May 8. There are over 65 different guided walks and many self-guided walks listed. There are urban walks, beach walks, bush walks, historical walks, garden walks, food tours, etc.
This walking festival is a first for Australia with opportunities to discover more of Victoria, benefits for tourism and health. The walking festival coincides with walks which form part of the National Trust Heritage Festival and the international Jane’s Walk urban design walking tours. It also coincides with the Premier’s Active April program.
As part of the festival, the TCPA is conducting 2 guided walks: one – called Birds, Bats and Bridges – in the inner city on Tuesday April 5 and a second walk in the country at Woodend on Sunday April 17. Places are limited, so book early through the following link http://victorianwalkingfestival.com.au/. Select the Walking Program tab then download the Program PDF from there.
Hope to see you there!
