TCPA Vice President, Tim Patton, has written an article on the subject of planning for population growth in regional cities. It was published in slightly shortened form in The Age on 15th July 2021. The gist of the article is that the proportion of population growth that occurs in Victoria’s regional towns and cities should be increased. This would relieve pressure on Melbourne while improving life opportunities in the regions. Regional rail services are a vital means to that end.
